Why Be Thankful?
Since it is God’s good pleasure to GIVE us His treasure, why is it a good idea to be thankful? Wouldn’t it be alright to just receive and go about our business? Some people do that and then wonder why they are not more richly blessed, or why they seem to have to struggle for what they get. The truth is, the more thankful or grateful you are, the easier it is for Universal good to flow through you.
Not being thankful is a form of resistance, which restricts the flow of God’s good through you. Resistance appears as complaining, criticism, anger, fear, and guilt, among others. God wants you and all His children to enjoy being on Mother Earth; to be healthy and happy.
It is wise to thank God for everything, but never thank Him for troubles or difficulties. If you have them, God didn’t give them to you. God is love and love can only give that which is positive, supportive and enduring. Some people mistakenly believe that God gives them difficulties to “test” them, or to cause them to grow. This, too, is not true. Again, God is love and love gives only good.
It is a good practice to speak words of gratitude toward God, but it is better to feel the joy of gratitude in your heart. The more you allow this feeling to be in you, the more you feel and know the presence of God, because God is that feeling; the activity of love.
I knew a person who seemed to struggle through life. She was unhealthy, unhappy, and not very prosperous. That is, until she decided to try the gratitude attitude and be grateful for everything, often. She decided to make a Gratitude Journal which she kept faithfully. Soon every aspect of her life began to change in wonderful ways.
The Gratitude Journal is simple. Using a note book, each evening, write down five things from that day for which you are genuinely grateful. The wonderful feeling of the joy of thanksgiving will soon be in you. Through this thankful feeling, life will be amazing! – Lovingly, Rev. John

Golden Keys to Answered Prayer …
Being thankful is a Golden Key to answered prayer. If answers seem difficult in coming, genuinely give thanks just as though you have received. In truth, you have because God is always within you as the fulfillment of all of the desires of your heart. Your thankful heart is the avenue through which God’s infinite good flows through you into your life.

Bytes of Wisdom …

Will make me strong or make me weak;
My little thoughts, like little seeds,
Will bring forth flowers or bring forth weeds.

A Little Humor …
Explaining luggage regulations to passengers can be aggravating for flight attendants. One day a woman tried to board with an enormous bag. The lead flight attendant told her why it would not fit, but the woman argued that her bag was a carry-on because it had wheels and a handle. Without blinking the attendant said, “My Honda has wheels and a handle, but that doesn’t make it a carry-on.”
