GoldenKeyMinistry.com Chat Room GuidelinesThank you for joining us. Some people come in and very quickly go out again, but we want you to know that we have a very special chat area; one where it is "safe" to share your feelings about what is important to you. Your host, Rev. John, (screen name: RevJohn) is a Unity minister, author, life-direction and prosperity consultant. We hope that by visiting our chat room you and others will benefit in some way and that you will share this opportunity with others by telling your friends about our site. Be sure to mark Chat Room as one of your favorite places for future reference, and remember to invite all your friends to join us as often as they can! This chat room is for the open discussion of issues that concern you such as health, peace, love, prosperity, and personal fulfillment from a more enlightened, spiritual point of view. It's not therapy, but can, by its nature be very uplifting and life changing even though it is just conversation! During our "hosted" chat some of our intentions are to give you new insight and ideas; to pay attention to our suggestions and to use what works; to challenge you to consider new ways of handling certain situations, problems, or areas of concern. The dialogue in this room is for people who are serious about living healthy, happy, peaceful and prosperous lives in the highest and best way. We are always open to listen to your ideas about how to live life more successfully. Help us keep the discussions positive. Entering the chat room is like entering "Cheers" - You may be greeted with a chorus of "Hi (screen name)!" before folks return to the discussion. Although it may seem that this means you have the floor, often they are being polite, yet are in the middle of a conversation. When you first enter the chat room, you won't see anything on your screen. You will then experience what it is like to be in on the middle or the end of a conversation. As time passes, you will begin to "see" what we are talking about. There are often several conversations going on at the same time. This may take a little time to get used to this. Concentration is the key! When you first enter the chat room, you will not see any of the conversation that is going on until you or someone types and sends a message. Wait a few minutes to see what we are talking about before jumping in with your comments or questions. It is important to take time to learn what topic is already in progress. This is especially important when attending a "hosted" topic chat where conversation is expected to stay on topic during the "hosted" time slots. The topic will be announced at the beginning of a "hosted" chat and periodically during the chat. It will be helpful to check the topic upon entering the room. Help us keep the conversation on the topic being discussed during the hosted chat time. If you have suggestions for chat room topics, please e-mail them to ChatTopic@GoldenKeyMinistry.com. Take caution as to what you say in response to someone's comments. Also remember, it is not possible to hear voice inflection, tone of voice, etc., like you do in normal conversation. Your words can often be misunderstood. Please keep this in mind when expressing your comments. An online chat is like a meeting. Just as you would not enter a meeting and shout to your friend across the room, "Hi! How was your trip?" - try to enter discreetly, and join in the current discussion before stating your own issues or concerns. Note: Sending your message in "ALL-CAPS" indicates "SHOUTING!!" It is considered very "rude" to type in ALL CAPS! If you follow proper online etiquette (some call it netiquette), you will send your messages in both upper and lowercase. All caps are also difficult to read, so please try not to use the caps lock button. You CAN use all caps to call attention to a word (Didn't that work nicely?). Or you can begin and end the word with asterisks or dashes. For example: "I *do* hope you've enjoyed this little crash course in chat lingo." of "I can't -wait- to see you in the chat!" Your comments to the host are most *welcome*!! If you have private comments for the host, please refrain from sending a Private Message during the chat. It takes a high degree of concentration to lead the chat and Private Message's are a distraction. Please send your comments by e-mail to: ChatHost@GoldenKeyMinistry.com Hot Idea! - To be sure the person to whom you are directing your comments notices their message, type their screen name first then, type your message. It eases confusion and aids smooth conversation. (i.e., "RevJohn, what's the topic?") It's easy when you learn to "copy and paste" their screen name in the message box then, type your response. If you have a comment, let the people in the chat room know. If you have a long response, there is a wait of a few seconds before others see the rest of the comment on screen. A good way to show you have more to say is to end your comments with three dots (. . .) to show there is more coming. Please Don't HOG the Conversation! We all have issues and concerns. State your situation briefly, and look for answers or solutions. To only talk about your problem could mean you are focusing too much on the problem and think everyone should too. That is not a good idea in this chat area. Everyone deserves to have an equal opportunity to express their own concerns or opinion. Please do your best to make your comments relevant to everyone. Help us to keep the conversation focused on seeking enlightenment. If you continue to dwell on problems, the room host's responsibility (for the benefit of the other chat room visitors) is to request that you quietly listen for a while and allow someone else to have an opportunity to express their comments or suggestions. To not do so would be in violation of our Chat Room's Terms of Service. Please honor the host's request, and help us make this fun, enlightening and worthwhile for all. A reminder: Scrolling is a violation of our Chat Room's Terms of Service. Scrolling is defined as hitting the "Send" button repeatedly without a message OR using "macros" to type pictures made from keyboard characters OR dominating the chat by using "macros" to print many continuous lines of type. This deprives other members the ability to post their message and will result in the loss of your chat room access. The only Authorized Chat Room Host is "RevJohn." The HOSTS have the responsibility and the authority to make sure the conversation flows smoothly and that it continues to be in the best interest of healthy, loving, positive support for you and everyone through this chat room, Golden Key Ministry.com Chat Room. Your help in keeping the dialogue positive, relevant, and on track, is always appreciated. Thank you again for joining us. Together we help each other enjoy happy, healthy, loving, peaceful and prosperous life-experiences.
