The Greatest Gift

Now, after weeks of planning, shopping, gift-wrapping, and decoration, Christmas is here! How are you doing? Have you taken time for quiet relaxation and meditation in which you contemplated the true meaning of Christmas? With all the gifts you are giving, are you truly giving the Greatest Gift?

What is the Greatest Gift? It is love. I once knew a lady who made the most delicious cakes, German chocolate being one of her best creations. One day while enjoying a piece of her cake, I asked her how she made them so yummy. She said, "As I stir the batter around and around, I speak, 'Love, Love, Love, Love." She literally stirred love into them, a love that came from her heart. (This lady made her cakes the 'old fashioned way' with no electric mixer.) No wonder her cakes were so delicious!

How do you give the Greatest Gift? Simply by accepting yourself as the very essence of Love and let it express in kind words and acts toward others, in praise and appreciation, patience and faith.

But it is not enough to just give the Greatest Gift to others. To make the circuit complete, allow yourself to accept and receive Love. It is a wonderful activity, one that only God could have created.

Let this Christmas Day be the time that Love prepares you for a wonderful new life in the New Year which will soon be here. As you give the Greatest Gift now and every day, you will live life lovingly every day. - Lovingly, Rev. John
