Prep for Christmas

Although it is still November, it is not too early to prepare for Christmas. No, I don't mean to go shopping for tree and house decorations or to try to beat the rush for "bargains" at the local Mall. What I do mean is to prepare you mind and your soul to experience the true meaning of Christmas.

Emmet Fox wrote: "Christmas is the festival of the rebirth. Sooner or later we all have to be born again, as Jesus said. This new birth is brought about by realizing our essential oneness with God, and this is the real meaning of Christmas. That this can be done, that we can really become the conscious expressions of God, is the most wonderful news in the world! For the same reason, everyone should be happy at Christmas time, and the best way to be happy yourself is to make others happy. To find the Christ in yourself is to find it in other people, too."

During this Christmas season try the experiment of spending some extra time in definitely seeking the Wonder Child in you. Think about it, affirm it, and pay attention to what happens within you.

Emmet Fox further says: "The reason so many people miss the best thing in life is that their hearts are so cluttered up with the intimate details of every day living that there is no room for the one thing that matters most. The Christmas holiday season is an ideal time to prepare your soul for the great incarnation. Seek, and you will find."
