The Gratitude Attitude - The Secret to Enriching Your Life. - Part Three

Another effective way to increase your good is to praise and appreciate. Dale Carnegie of How to Win Friends and Influence People fame, said to "speak up with praise and appreciation."

Granted, it may not always be easy to do this, especially if someone is difficult to get along with; you do not feel very loving toward that person, and life seems harder than it should be. However, when you practice loving and appreciating yourself and realize that others are basically no different, it is easier to love them and to speak up with praise and appreciation. These are the expressions of the Gratitude Attitude.

Do this! Stand before a large mirror and talk to yourself, praising what a wonderful person you are and emphasize that you are created in the image and likeness of God (Love), therefore you are worth loving. You are divinely created. If you will do this every day for at least a week, you will gain a higher view of yourself as a divine being, worthy of being loved, and you will be loving more easily.

Praise and appreciation will come naturally to you, then. This practice will empower you so that you are divinely irresistible to attract to you, wonderful, new blessings of every kind. Your life will prosper in beautiful ways!

Charles Fillmore, the co-founder of Unity, said, "Praise is the quality of mind that eulogizes the good; one of the avenues through which spirituality expresses." He also said, "Thanksgiving will keep your heart fresh, for true thanksgiving may be likened to rain falling upon ready soil, refreshing it and increasing its productiveness."

The results of the Gratitude Attitude is a wonderful sense that all is well, regardless of appearances, and puts a light touch to all that you do. Further, it creates a wonderful flow of rich good in your life. You simply cannot measure the power of the Gratitude Attitude! If you live in America, have a happy Thanksgiving! A little humor. . .

The I taught water aerobics to arthritic adults and tried to vary the repetitive exercises. During one workout, I called, "One and two and three and SMILE !" The participants liked the routine, so I kept it up. Bit after one class a man approached me and asked if we could keep our exercises down to a three count. "Are your knees acting up again?" I asked, concerned about his health. "Oh, no, my knees are fine," he responded. "But I think I stepped on somebody's teeth today!" - Laurie Vigliette
